About Greensboro Jewelers

After spending years in an impersonal, subdivided, traffic jammed metropolis, Mark and Susan Blanton were ready for a major life change.  Having both grown up in small towns, they were looking for a friendlier community, slower pace, great golf, and a new business opportunity for Mark.  What they received was even better than they had hoped; a thriving business, loyal friends and a new sense of belonging.

Greensboro Jewelers is the culmination of Mark’s dream of being his own boss. After opening it’s doors in 1992 with the help of family and friends, Greensboro Jewelers has become the cornerstone of the Greensboro and Lake Oconee area’s business community.  

In 1999, Greensboro Jewelers was named the Greene County Chamber of Commerce “Small Business of the Year”. Greensboro Jewelers was also named “The Best Jewelry Store” in Lake Oconee, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, an honor we are very proud of as this particular award is indeed a community people’s choice award.

Mark remains committed to the downtown area, serving on the Downtown Development Authority, the Greene County High School Council, and the Festival Hall Board. He also represents Greensboro on the Georgia Industry and Tourism Committee.
